સેમ માણૅકશૉનું પૂરું નામ હોર્મોઝજી ફ્રમાદી જમશેદજી માણેકશૉ હતું, સેમનો જન્મ 3 એપ્રિલ, 1914 ના રોજ અમૃતસરના પારસી પરિવારમાં થયો હતો. બાળપણથી તે ખૂબ નિર્ભય અને બહાદુર હતો. લોકો તેમની શોર્યતાને કારણે સેમ બહાદુર કહીને પણ બોલાવે છે. ફીલ્ડ માર્શલ રેન્કમાં પ્રમોટ થયા બાદ સેમ ભારતીય ભૂમિ સેનાના પ્રથમ જનરલ બન્યા.

1962 માં જ્યારે મિઝોરમ બટાલિયનએ પોતાની જાતને ઇન્ડો-ચીન યુદ્ધથી દૂર કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો ત્યારે માણેકશોએ બંગડીઓના બૉક્સ સાથે પાર્સલમાં બટાલિયનને એક નોંધ મોકલી. જેના પર લખ્યું હતું – ‘જો તમે યુદ્ધમાંથી પાછા ફર્યા છો, તો આ બંગડીઓ તમારા સૈનિકોને તે પહેરવા માટે કહો.’ પછી બટાલિયનએ લડાઈમાં ભાગ લીધો અને ખુબ જ બહાદુરી દર્શાવી. અને પછી સૅમે કહ્યું – ‘હવે બંગડીઓ પાછી મોકલાવી આપો.’

31 વર્ષની વિકી કૌશલ આ રજુ થયેલ ચિત્રમાં તેઓ ફક્ત સેમ મણકશો જેવા દેખાતા નથી, પણ સેમ મણેશોના કરડાકીભર્યા વલણને પણ બતાવવામાં સફળ રહ્યા છે. જેના પરથી વિકીનુ& કલા પ્રત્યેનું પરફેકશન નહિ તો પછી બીજું શું કહેવુ.
